Now this certification is called BIS and ISI mark is still used for quality certifications by the Bureau of Indian Standards. Average time taken for grant of licence under option 2 is generally one month and under option 1 four months from the date of receipt of complete application and its recording. It may vary for reasons like delay in response to queries raised, if any; organizing inspection(s); sample deposition and fee dues, etc. It is valid for two years from the date is issuance.
