What are Core Fields in GST:

The following are the Core Fields in GST:

  • Business Nmme;

  • Directors/Partners;

  • Principal Place of Business;

  • Additional Place of Business;

  • Business Activities;

  • Contact details of Business but not the directors or partners.

What details can be amended in Core Fields:

The following details of Core Fields can be amended in your GST Registration:

  • Business details such as Lagal Name and Trade Name of the Business, Address and Constitution of the Business can be amended;

  • You can add a director/partner or remove a director/partner;

  • You can amend the principal palace of business;

  • You can add additional place of business;

  • You can amend the nature of business activity (not the goods or services) such as Bonded Warehouse, EOU/STP/EHTP, Export, Factory/Manufacturing, Import, Supplier of Services, Leasing Business, Office/Sale Office, Recipient of Goods or Services, Retails Business, Warehouse/Dept, Wholesale Business, Works Contract or others etc being carried out at the principal place or of additional place of buiness;

  • You can amend the Mobile and Email of the Business but not for proprietor/partner/director/authorised signatory.

How to amend core fields in my GST Dashboard:

Login to GST portal with your credentials, go to services section, select registration option and in that choose Amendment of Registration Core Fields, then you will be routed to amendment fields section, there you can modify the details and submit through digital signature certificate if required. Thats it, the same may be approved by the GST Officer subject to verfication of documents. Once the amendment is approved, you can check the modified details on your dashboard.

What is GST?

GST Stands for Goods and Services Tax in India.

Is GST Registration Mandatory?

For the following persons, the GST registration is mandatory:

  • Businesses with turnover above the threshold limit of Rs. 40 Lakhs (Rs. 20 Lakhs for North-Eastern States, J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand);

  • Persons making any inter-State taxable supply***;

  • casual taxable persons making taxable supply;

  • persons who are required to pay tax under reverse charge;

  • e-Commerce Operator

  • non-resident taxable persons making taxable supply;

  • persons who are required to deduct tax under section 51, whether or not separately registered under this Act;

  • persons who make taxable supply of goods or services or both on behalf of other taxable persons whether as an agent or otherwise;

  • Input Service Distributor, whether or not separately registered under this Act;

  • persons who supply goods or services through e-Commerce operator

  • every person supplying online information and database access or retrieval services from a place outside India to a person in India, other than a registered person; and

  • such other person or class of persons as may be notified by the Government on the recommendations of the Council.

Can we take multiple GST Registrations?

Yes. You can take if your business operates more than one state, you can apply for GST Registration in each state and if your business is into different verticals, you can apply multiple GST Registrations in the same state.

Who can register under Composition Scheme?

A trader whose aggregate turnover is below Rs 1.5 crore can opt for the Composition scheme. In the case of Special Category States, the present limit is Rs.75 lakh. .

For service providers, if the aggregate turnover is below Rs. 50 Lakhs can opt for Composition Scheme.

In how many days we will get GST Registration?

If you do it with Aadhar authentication, it may take 4 to 5 working days otherwise it may take 20 to 30 days. Again this is subject to the GST officer approval.
